So, like so many other radicals before him he was also at Calgary; his car even linked to a particular Islamic centre there...

And still, no serious investigation into the Center, the imams, and people who go there.
It is still open and moving along.

    Well done.

Why? If he had been caught entering a Lutheran chrch, would we have the congregation under lock down? Nah.
Honestly, I think it's far more likely that has far more to do with his breakdown than his alleged religious affiliation.

    HE WAS A CRACKHEAD, FOLKS!

They kicked him out of a Vancouver mosque, according to the free morning daily here.

Probably because of his crack addiction.

Because he began to question why the mosque allowed non-Muslims to enter. Also because he stole keys and was sleeping in the mosque.

Sure he was a crackhead - dime a dozen in Vancouver. None of them apply for a passport to go to Syria, none shoot up the govt - if anything they'll rob somebody to get more crack. It's Islamicism that made him go after parliament, not his crack addiction. HIs crack addiction is what drove him to Islam and then radical Islam tho.

Well, that's the most idiotic thing you have written for a while.

RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson revealed yesterday that Zehaf-Bibeau was under a criminal prohibition from possessing firearms.

Go back to your dreamcatchers.

So this guy was both a drug user and an Islamic radical, right?

And apparently there is some form of logic that says this now requires us to only notice the dope, while ignoring the radicalization. Is that correct?

But do we also ignore all the cases of Islamic attacks where drugs were not connected? I imagine we have to ignore them for now and find case by case apologies as those other incidents of Jihadi attacks occur. Is that the correct procedure?

I can't help wondering about Islamic jail radicalization. I know it's common in other countries. If you tell me this guy did serious time I have to wonder if it's creeping in here as well.

Thank you wildrosegirl for being completely competent with this issue.

People here are losing their freaking minds. By people I mean people I care about. All worked up into anxiety attacks over the fear. It's making me nauseous arguing with them, telling them to step back and maybe breathe for a moment. Ripping my head off because I think this is a *little* bit oversold.

One of my friends is a military wife... Says she's seen documents that say the Ottawa incident is part of a bigger deal. Told her I would need to be given those documents by a verifiable source in order to believe them, and find it a bit rough to expect Canadians to be in a scared stupor over this. This was all after I argued with another guy about whether Sandy Hook was faked or not. Freaking people. Sensationalistic dooms day nonsense. The more information we read, the more obvious the guy was probably only successful he was a random crackhead.

I have the unusual position of being the only anti-conspiracist amungst a bunch of political people I speak with in person. I hang out with the apathetics and chat about music and pokemon just to give myself a break from telling people to stop freaking out.

Like I said when I first heard about it.... I'm more worried about a random crackhead in my community with a rifle than I am some guy with a gripe about Western civilization. Lo and behold, he's a crackhead. But he was in Ottawa. He killed innocent people and is dead now. Thanks for doing the honours, crackhead, though the proceedings if actually aprehended would probably be incredibly hilarious portrayed by the media, if any of the details we're hearing now came out.

Anyhow, the military wife claims he's not a recent convert and that the news is full of shit. I agree the news is shit, I guess, but in a different way. Claims there's threats here in town. I doubt it, frankly. I'm pretty sure any actions right now by the militarty are cautionary and/or intent on appearing secure and prepared. But there is a steadily decreasing cause for concern over this nonsense. Crazy people are crazy. Our society lets these people obtain weapons. We like to care about reasons I guess, and admitedly, not many crackheads are brave enough to attack the symbolic leaders... Well, there's was that guy in Trudeau's, and the guy with a plastic knife from KFC in Cretien's... Lots, actually. No assasinations, which seems fluky. Boy, that'd be surreal. A crackhead murdering the Prime Minister? I can only imagine the discussions that would follow that, and the media circus.

Security will always have holes. Part of a crackhead's luster is the ability to catch people off-guard.

Wonder if this'll be the top headline for the next week?

So much growing up to do.....

This has 0.1% to do with being a crackhead and 99.99% to do with radical religious views.

Keep thinking what you do if it makes you feel better at night.

Nice to know that Calgary is an 'Islamic' city.

It's funny to me that the Climate Change Deniers are the ones most critical of Islamic jihadists. Funny because you're exactly the same thing: weak-minded fools radicalized by internet bullshit. Islam isn't to blame for the rise of these Jihadists. It's the combination of galactic stupidity and internet access that builds Jihadists. And it's the same combination that breeds climate change deniers. You have a common affliction.

Yea, all these Christian Jihadists are just overwhelming.......religion plays no part at all.
