Al Quada promo videos, and anti-israel commercials. Western hate speeches. Oh yeah! Let's get it!

I dont know if this would be such a bad thing, Al Jazeera Britian is quite good.

I agree with Sapper. More because it offers the news from a different viewpoint. You can never trust a single newsssource to give a full story, even our western news sources. You have to look through both sides rhetoric, propaganda, and plain bullshit to see the full and true story behind the headlines. Having Al Jezeera in Britain offers that, and would do the same in Canada.

We have it here as part of the news package on digital cable. For the most part it's the same as any other news channel. But we also have CCTV, RI and a few others(Vietnam, Deutsche, Bloomberg, BBC, CNNI) which are similar in their reporting

Just sell the CBC to Al Jazeera, a quick change of the name plate behind Mansbridge and nobody would notice the difference.

No people would notice the increase in quality.

I have no objection to these guys being on the air here. We're only one of two countries that have refused them a license in the past.

As long as I have the option of watching or not, and just like any other network not believing the propaganda they spew over the air. Fox news is probably worse.

    I'm against this.
I support free speach but with the Human rights nazis on the march, this is just "blue" baiting (Redbaiting Conservatives?) .
We just had the Ontario Human Rights Commission, fresh from it's taxpayer funded fight with Steyn, Levant and a handfull of bloggers, now they want to control all Canadian media. I have no confidance in the HRC and expect that they would actively bankrupt anyone who chose to disagree with this new terrorist mouthpiece.

    Why not ?
I have heard too that they were professional. More freedom the better, in respect of the law.
