The nearest star to ours is roughly 3 light years away. That means it would take ET, if he came from a planet on the NEAREST star, 3 years to get here if he could travel at the speed of light. I believe ET exists, but he's too far away to ever be seen in these parts.

Unless they had other ways of getting to one destination to another? There are many ideas being created to get to one spot to another in space more quickly. Stargate is based on one idea if it is at all possible. Seeing if there is beings out there that can travel through space, I would assume they would have the tech to be able to do so.

Seeing how we can barely even get from the earth to the moon, I don't think we are exactly experts on our limits of what we can accomplish in space.
