Yep, the longer they stay the more captives = more prisoners exchanged = totally defeat their "so-called" purpose they will have to give up more Hamas militants than they have killed, which is admittedly not so many. Now if it was as many as the civilians they had killed, then it would be an issue.

So Hamas--on purpose--has managed to kill 4 civilians, and Israel--by accident--has managed to well over a thousand. I guess you can conlcude that both sides suck--Hamas sucks at kiling civilians and Israel sucks at not killing them.

Here's a picture of one of the neighborhoods they destroyed with their "precision" attacks.

Apparently the whole town was a military installation, except no weapons or soldiers, but still.

I guess every building had bottle cap rockets or something. Doesn't seem very logical to store weapons like that from an access point of view.

SFW? You're one of the folks who asserts collective rights so why not collective responsibilities?

You're not considering the potential for damage from secondary explosions.

A small Israeli munition hitting a large Hamas munitions dump will cause a very big explosion.

And this looks to be the effect of around a 250kg to 500kg explosion and the Israelis are not using anything that big.

Others would use more virulent language to define this mess.
Problem here is one side, pick one is always right and the other are terrorists and War criminals.

Where did I mention collective rights, and how do you define them?
Rights, I am for Human Rights for all. The same rights, for all.
But to your question on collective rights & responsibilities, you do mean collective punishment. Collective punishment is a War Crime.

You stated you are and I paraphrase, well acquainted with War Crimes, would that be correct?
You also mentioned in a post they are trying to kill you. Do you reside in Israel or an Arab country?
Exactly where is this attempt to kill you taking place.

Exactly. And the people in Gaza voted in Hamas and they bear responsibilty for that choice.

Hard to believe I'm saying this, but I miss the PLO. At least they were getting close to being civilized.

...and maybe that's why they got voted out.

41 percent or so voted for Hamas. Many multiple candidates from the PLO ran against each other, split vote. Hamas got in.
So why are 100 % punished.

http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/08/01 ... d-soldier/

The Israeli army has instituted a rule known as the Hannibal Procedure which includes standing orders calling for the bombardment of all possible escape routes preventing the spiriting away of any abducted soldier, even if that endangers the soldier.

The directive is named after Hannibal, the Carthaginian general who poisoned himself rather than be taken prisoner by the Romans.

The kidnapping provoked a furious response from Israel with increased airstrikes around the Rafah region. Palestinian officials said the strikes killed at least 70 people.

The Israeli military said the heavy shelling in Rafah that followed was part of operational and intelligence activity designed to locate Lt. Goldin.

The soldier’s father, Simha Goldin, a Tel Aviv University professor specializing in Ashkenazi Jewry, said, “We want to support the military in the fighting against Hamas in Gaza. We are sure the military will not stop before it turns over every stone in Gaza and returns Hadar home safe and sound.”

Hamas blamed Israel for breaking the ceasefire and said the tunnel clash had happened before the truce took effect. Moussa Abu Marzouk, deputy head of the group’s political bureau, later claimed it was not holding an Israeli soldier.
