This kid has no hope if he thinks he will become a leader by piling on
this kind of BS.

Too bad, I was hoping for better.

I think he's setting himself up as Emporer of Quebec. Next he'll be doing pirouettes behind the Queen. But it's a free country, no thanks to his old man (who thought Nazis were not evil enough to fight against), and he's allowed to make an ass of himself. The only problem is it's at the taxpayer's expense. Another clown on the public teat.

You guys are making a mountain out of a Strawman. There was nothing Douchy in what he said.

I agree with you, Sandorski. I would go farther and say that he has risen in my opinion for saying this. I had not thought of him as leadership material but this episode raises him to a different level.

Leave out the ethnic problems of Quebec and that province best exemplifies what Canada was all about in its social values. It remains the progressive society where the country as a whole is sliding backwards into a split society of economic haves and have nots and to an authoritarian structure.

These are the values Trudeau was talking about and I am with him. I want no part of the Canada that Harper is building.

Add to the fact that he always seems to be riding daddy's coattails, using the famous surname to get more media exposure than most would get.

Exactly. I don't get why Liberals think this clown is the heir apparent. He's not Bobby Kennedy taking JFK's place, he's JFK's spoiled-brat, retarded nephew, William Kennedy Smith. He's not Michael Corleone becoming the Don in Vito Corleone's wake, he's the feable-minded coward, Fredo. The Liberals need a young, progressive leader if they have any hope of rebuilding their party (let alone forming a government) over the next couple of elections. They need a new Pierre Trudeau, not just any Trudeau. The sooner they admit Justin Trudeau isn't that man the better the Liberals' chances are.

R=UP

I had kind of hoped Gerard Kennedy would have won back in 2006, but unfortunately Dion did. I see Justin Trudeau as too close ideologically to Dion and the rest of the hard core left wingers in the Liberal Party.

I'll admit that they are the party I would normally vote for however, the past few leaders have been ineffective and the party platforms they've espoused are too far left from my own political POV. I especially don't care for their anti-military attitude.

On the flip side, calling Harper the boogeyman of Canadian politics is hardly any worse than some of the things Harper has said about the Liberals while he was in opposition (or during recent campaigns).

The beauty about politics... let's call this Rule #1.

When a politician or political party, does or says something stupid, you can ALWAYS find someone on the other side of the political spectrum that did or said something as stupid, or worse.

It won't! Harper is dead in the water. The cracks are appearing all over his agenda and every plank in the deck of his ship is rotting.

Even Conservatives are beginning to get angry at his excesses.

Made it a touch more accurate for ya.

Rule #2...

Eventually, all ruling political parties will be voted out.

Kinda reminds me of my favourite political qoute, by someone famous, "Politicians are like diapers. They should be changed often, and for the same reason."

Reminds me of the cyclical joke, "What's worse than Liberal in power? A Conservative. What's worse than a Conservative in power? A Liberal.

Oh here we go. You spout off about things that you can provide no proof about, just heresay and rhetoric, then all-out flaming when everyone else shows you how pathetic and uninformed you really are in that bubble of yours. I swear the only reason you stay is to pad your negative feedback.

Sad, sad, sad.

He expressed an opinion - how can he provide proof of it? Is your opinion that everything is great with the CPC any more valid - do you have proof for it? (I don't agree with his opinion btw, I think it's going to be some time before that ship sinks.) And the flaming often starts on the other side when all Eureka has expressed is his opinion. The mistake he makes is trying to justify it as fact. I've fallen into that trap myself, since you righties always demand proof of opinions contrary to your own, but rarely offer proof to back up your pov. Of course that makes sense, since the right just knows they're right, why else would they be called the right, right?
