Thanos Thanos: If this rigging of the UCP leadership race turns out to be true, and was deliberately done by Kenney's orcs to obliterate Brian Jean, then Jason Kenney has no moral right to govern. Frankly, I have hunch that it is, which is why my chances of voting UCP are next to nil. I will not vote for the NPD based on their record and--frankly--they are too far to the left. I'm not optimistic, but even how ugly things are getting, part of me wishes that a another party (most likely the Alberta Party) would come up through the middle to prevent either from getting a majority.

I've been living in my current shack for a long time now, and in all that time, not one politician has come to my door. Till now.

That shit, from both the NDP and UCP, pissed me off. I am on the DO NOT FUCKING CALL ME FOR ANY FUCKING REASON list, because I do not want to be called for any fucking reason.
I was tempted to reply to "who are you voting for" with "Not fucking you, anymore." but I know I'd be hounded to change my mind.

Try responding in the form of, I will vote for who ever bothers me the least. If 2 or more parties never call or bother me I will place those parties in a hat and draw one out. That is how I do my voting. Thank you

Thank you No. Just some background, the "Sarah from UCP", and an earlier one from "Dave from the NDP"(?) was a text sent to everyone in Alberta asking to support the different parties. Any response at all would be the same thing as pressing "2" on a robocall to be "removed from the list". Pressing "2" only serves to prove there is a human answering, and you get put on every list, everywhere, forever. You will never get another phone call from a human being again. The only way to win "Global Texting War", is not to play.

When Notley dropped the writ, no one dared pick it up.

Kenney blasted by libertarian Albertan conservatives for his religious-right involvement in preventing the partners of dying gay people to visit them in hospital: https://calgaryherald.com/news/politics ... -and-right$1: Thursday’s full-bore attack on Jason Kenney’s record of anti-gay marriage activism didn’t just come from the NDP.
Derek Fildebrandt, leader of the new Freedom Conservative Party, pitched in without restraint.
Fildebrandt first sounded mild when asked about the UCP leader’s role in a movement that helped prevent gay men from seeing their dying spouses in hospital.
Fildebrandt said he once supported Kenney because he felt the leader had come to accept gay rights. “Views change, people change,” Fildebrandt said.
Then he launched.
“But fighting to make sure that gay men dying of AIDS could not be visited by their loved ones? That shocked me. That is cruel.
“I can’t imagine how someone would be able, in good conscience, to say that someone dying of a horrible disease would not be able to see their loved ones because they’re gay.
“In any age — I don’t care if it’s the 2000s or the Dark Ages — that’s just cruel.”
This first erupted Wednesday with an NDP attack ad that showed the young Kenney appearing to chortle over his role in defeating a domestic partners ordinance in San Francisco, when he was a student there in the 1980s.
On Thursday, the NDP released a new 10-minute video shot mostly in San Francisco. It shows emotional interviews with AIDS activists and a surviving spouse. Never thought I'd say this but thank you, Derek Fildebrandt.

And that Conservative government in Saskatchewan back then was one of the most crooked and corrupt in all of Canadian history.

Thanos Thanos: Never thought I'd say this but thank you, Derek Fildebrandt. Pretty sure either Fildebrant or Mandell will be the spoiler in re-electing the NDP.

DrCaleb DrCaleb: Thanos Thanos: Never thought I'd say this but thank you, Derek Fildebrandt. Pretty sure either Fildebrant or Mandell will be the spoiler in re-electing the NDP. Fildebrandt's group is specifically not running in ridings where they think the NDP will get clobbered, which means they're focussing all their resources in places where they can siphon votes to damage the UCP the most. This will be absolutely hilarious if this spoiler campaign works turns out that way.
