Just to be clear, I don't like Trump. I liked the idea of Trump running at the time, because he is nowhere near a politician and looked like he might shake things up. After his first couple of weeks in office, it became clear he's a moron.

Same thing when I heard O'Leary was running for the CPC leadership way back when. I thought it might be good to shake things up. Then he opened his mouth a few times and looked like a fool.

The root cause of the problem is a sign of the times. Decades ago, politicians would be held accountable immediately and given the boot. Now, most Canadians (and some Americans, to a lesser extent) have become largely apathetic.
